How do I get started?If you are a newcomer to Pilates you might like to read a bit more about it and its founder Joseph H PilatesOne of the main questions I'm asked is 'Is Pilates suitable for me?'. Pilates, if taught considerately, is suitable for almost everyone. Here at Chewing Gum Pilates we teach the very young (9 upwards) to the very old, those in-shape to those out-of-shape, those with painful joints and those with physical limitations. If you do want to give the Pilates method a try, or if you have had previous experience, then you might like to know a little more about our philosophy and approach here at Chewing Gum Pilates and what we have to offer. Pilates teachers vary greatly in the amount of training and experience they have and the approach they take when teaching. Good teachers will find the ideal path between your expectations and your needs. They will encourage you and challenge you but will always keep you safe.
